The Halal Certificate of Agrovita has been extended until July 2015 following audits from GIMDES (Association for the Inspection and Certification of Food and Supplies).
Prognosfruit, this year the 37th edition, completed its mission of gathering the European apple and pear industry. The conference attracted growers, processors and traders from across Europe and was again a networking opportunity for decision makers which attend the conference. Agrovita’s Ovaköy-Balıkesir plant has been acquired in 2011 from Tat Konserve. The plant is built on a 12-ha land.
Balıkesir is an important agricultural hub between South Marmara and Aegean Regions. Various fruits and vegetables that serve as raw material for processors are grown in this region.
The pivotal location of Agrovita facilitate access to these raw materials.
Agrovita provides agricultural support to contracted growers of tomato that is the leading processed raw material.

Agrovita contracts with tomato growers around Balikesir.
The Company secures the supply of tomatoes with a farmer pool exceeding 500 members. Contracted farmers benefit from automatic planters and harvesters as well as agricultural services provided by Agrovita.
Tomatoes processed by Agrovita are obtained within 30 km for 60% and 60 km for 80%. Raw material procurement from close distances enable the Company to minimise the carbon footprint level.
Meanwhile, the process of raw material in a short period of time after harvest delivers higher end product quality.
Agrovita plays a major role in numerous social responsibility projects, primarily in Balikesir.
Fruits and vegetables processed by Agrovita are exported to various countries in form of sauce, puree, concentrates and paste.
